The world’s biggest burger chain Burger King has unveiled the results of a survey to find out which countries are the biggest in terms of burger consumption.
The survey of more than 100,000 people was carried out by data provider Market Intelligence.
In terms of hamburgers consumed per capita, India leads the way with a daily consumption of about 8.8 burgers.
The United States is in second place with a consumption of 7.6 burgers.
Japan and South Korea are in third place, and Australia is in fourth place.
Burger King said it would launch a new burger in the UK in 2018.
The company said that its sales in India rose to $2.1 billion (£1.5 billion) in the year to March, a 15% rise over the previous year.
Burger Kings India had revenues of $2 billion in 2016.
The fast food chain is hoping that it can expand in the next few years, with a second location opening in India.
