I have been told my office space is the most important thing in my life.
My office is my world and it is the one I have dedicated my life to.
My wife has her own office.
The one with all the computers and the air conditioning.
The only office with no air conditioning and no electricity.
I have worked in this space since I was in the UK and my boss is one of the nicest, most accommodating, generous and supportive people I know.
I am lucky to have this office.
If I am not able to do my job well, if my boss doesn’t get my point across, I am unable to make it to the next meeting.
I can do so much better in a different place, I can learn to work differently.
But the world is changing and so are we.
The internet has given us the opportunity to move from the office to the internet and to connect from home, but I have to admit, it is hard to find a quiet place in my home to work from.
The fact is, if I don’t have an office, I do not have a home.
In the last year, the internet has brought about the emergence of more and more offices in which people are often living in apartments, and the new trend of corporate apartments is to be located in office spaces.
I know this may seem like an empty statement.
I think most of us would agree that offices have changed, they are much bigger, they can accommodate a lot more people, and I have the luxury of being able to work anywhere, even on a Friday night.
In some cases, it may be possible to work on a Monday afternoon or even a Wednesday night, if it is just me and the occasional coffee break.
If my boss and I agree on a time and a place, we can work on our laptops and on our phones and Skype each other in private.
But most of the time, I would rather work from home or from a public location, even if it would be a public place.
What does all this mean for me personally?
My home is the last place I would want to spend the rest of my life, if not for the physical wellbeing of my family and friends.
I would never move back to my old workplace because it is now more of a burden than an asset.
My friends are not my friends, and there is a greater chance that they will become bored and leave, and my family is much less likely to spend time in an office with me.
But there is another benefit to being away from my family, and it has to do with the possibility of better social interaction.
My new job allows me to spend a lot of time in the company.
My boss, my co-workers, and other colleagues who have become my friends and family will still call me when I am away, but there will be a greater possibility of meeting face-to-face.
I don.t have to worry about what my friends will think about me if I leave.
I will always have my coppers and my books.
The potential for more positive social interaction is a very real possibility and it makes my job more valuable.
I hope this article has given you some insight into the benefits of staying at home for a longer period of time.
If you have a longer term career plan, it could make you happier if you are able to make the transition to a different office space.
And if you work from your home, you can be sure you will never feel alone again.
